Avynn's Birth Story Preview and a Little Ditty About BlogStomp...northern california birth photographer

This was the second birth I was invited to document. I had the pleasure of documenting my first birth story back in 2010 when I got my first DSLR and was only doing this as a hobby. I may post those someday...maybe? They were taken when I had very little experince with anything other then auto so they aren't that great but I still cherish them! Anyway, I am just about done editing the event and wanted to put up a preview before I actually blog the birth story and post a slide show.

On another note, I downloaded and purchased BlogStomp today and am using it for the first time with this post. So far I LOVE IT. It is such a valuable time saver/tool for photographers and/or anyone else with a blog. I haven't had a chance yet to study the software. But, with just the little amount of time I've spent with it so far, I can tell it is very user friendly. I love how clean and professional it makes everything look and I wanted to say thank you to Jasmine Star for turning me on to it ;). She mentioned it in one of her workshops that I purchased on CreativeLive, which is another awesome educational resource for photographers. I have hyper-linked all the sites mentioned in case anyone is interested in checking these tools out for themselves.

Here are some more of my favorites from the day:

Thanks so much for taking the time to look. Happy Wednesday everyone!

Gavin's Newborn Session...red bluff, ca newborn photographer

Gavin came in just before Christmas last year to do a newborn session with me. This was the third newborn session I had attempted. Luckily mom, dad and Gavin were patient with me and we were able to get some lovely shots. Gavin actually did really well he was a very sleepy baby. Actually he was my first sleeping baby if I'm correct and I was elated. I even got a few smiles out of him! He is very photogenic. He must get it from his mamma. If you can recall his mom was one of the first sessions I did after we moved here from Southern California. You can check those out here. Maggie and Bryan, it is always a pleasure. Little Gavin thank you for being such a great newborn I look forward to watching you grow!

 Thanks for lookin!
XOXO,
Jen

5 yrs. Together and Still Going Strong...red bluff, ca family photographer

Armando and Elizabeth have been together for 5 years and they have two beautiful children. Elizabeth is also a photographer and when she asked me to do this session for her I was excited but I wasn't sure what shooting another photographer was going to be like. To be honest it made me a little nerves, but my nervousness went away quick when I met Elizabeth and her family. They are laid back, friendly people and it was a joy getting to talk with someone who enjoys photography as much as I do. Thanks so much you guys, it was a pleasure. I hope you like your pictures.

We decided to do the shoot all around downtown Red bluff. First we started at The State Theater before making our way down to the Sacred Heart Parish on Main St.

Next we stopped at the court house in Red Bluff and I was able to get some shots of Armando and Manny playing together! I just love shots like these!

By this time the kids were getting antzy so why not head over for some ice cream at the local Tommy K's Yogurt Shop? Of course it's one of my most fav places to go in town! While the kids were occupied with their ice cream, mom and dad were able to get a couple shots in.

While mom was gone ordering ice cream I was able to get my hands on their little girl Ivy. Is she not adorable? At first she was shy but then we made a deal that if she did a couple poses my way then I would let her do some her way. She decided to make a heart shape with her hands. I thought that was a great idea ;)!

We walked down to the clock tower area of red bluff and I was able to get one picture of the little guy Manny. He was making me work for it though, lol!

Can't you just see the love between the two of them? Super sweet!

I'm told Bless the broken road is their song, so I thought we should end with that. Here's to many more years together!
