Hunter's 7 Month Photo Session...red bluff, ca. baby photographer

I have been photographing Hunter since he was born and I was so excited for this session. Something about this age makes me so happy. I think it has something to do with how curious a baby is at this age and the fact that facial expressions are in abundance by this age. I also really love baby fat and a baby at this age has tons of it, LOL! Hunter's mom and dad just bought their first home in Cottonwood, Ca. and it is a lovely place. I was so jealous! They have a ton of land out in the country and it was so fun being able to enjoy it for the day. Congrats to you both and thanks for letting me document these special moments in your lives ;)!

New Addition to the Lyford Family...red bluff, ca. lifestyle & family portrait photographer

What can I say about this family? They are the most gorgeous family EVER! Jace was the second newborn baby I had the chance to get my hands on. It didn't quite go as I had planned because no matter what we tried we could not get him to sleep for longer then a second. However, I would not have had it any other way because I learned A TON from this shoot. First, I was once again reminded that working with a newborn is not easy. Second, This session really gave me a handle on my style. I had originally planned to set-up a studio but I realized very quickly I was going to need to change my plan because let's face it studio set-ups, in my opinion, just don't look quite right unless you have a sleeping baby. During one of the feeding breaks I snapped a picture of his mamma holding him and I realized right then that that was the direction I needed to go with this session. By the end of it I also realized that I LOVE lifestyle photography and that is where I want my images to go. In the end I got some great photos to add to my portfolio and I had a lot of fun. So thanks Julie, Jace, Luke and Scotty for letting me spend the some time perfecting my craft.

These first few were taken in Jace's nursery. His mommy designed it. I just love the colors.

We used lots of the family's home for the pictures. They have the perfect home for a lifestyle session!

It had been wet and raining but the weather cleared up just enough for us to get some shots outside. The overcast made for great lighting ;)!

thanks for looking,
XOXO,

Lil Jack...red bluff, ca. baby & family portrait photographer

Back in the fall I was approached to do my first family session complete with pets, although I didn't know about the pets at the time, lol. Lil Jack was turning 6 months old and his family choose to do the session at their property. It was such a great shoot. Their two dogs were pretty insistent they needed to be in the pics and rightfully so. The pumpkins were grown right in their back yard. Love this little town and I had so much fun working with this family.
